Alicia employs sound judgment and reasoned decision making to provide strategic advice aimed at identifying and implementing high-impact climate solutions.
Alicia began her career as an attorney in the climate change and white collar practices of top-5 U.S. law firms prior to co-founding Elevate Climate. Her collective experience includes drafting and analyzing legal frameworks for carbon pricing, environmental commodities, and GHG reporting, working with stakeholders to understand and shape views on climate policy, advising on the mechanics of carbon markets, drafting ESG disclosures and internal governance policies, and structuring / diligencing transactions, among others. Alicia is also a trained facilitator and mediator, and belongs to the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s independent mediation roster where she has supported the deployment of environmental justice grant funding in Vallejo, CA. Alicia brings with her practice a strong grounding in human rights, having studied and contributed to various human rights efforts, primarily through her work with Stanford University, Oxfam America, and Human Rights Watch (Guatemala) and as a Stanford Human Rights Fellow for UNICEF (Egypt).
